BETHANY DICKSON Bethany was raised in a musical and theatrical family. At age 3 she was already harmonizing with her mom in the car, and at 4, with very little persuasion she donned tights and a tutu and danced her way through her childhood. Amongst other productions, she has played Louisa in The Sound of Music and Louise in Carousel, both at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. Aside from her training as a dancer she is lead singer for a band, White Collar Kiss. She also plays the keyboard and drums for St Matthews Church worship band and has just completed her diploma in Public Relations. MICHELE LA TROBE Michele trained extensively in Ballet (R.A.D.) & Modern dance, obtaining distinctions in IDTA Modern dancing and Dance Core Contemporary exams. In 2001 she was winner of the Solo Performers’ Modern examination and won numerous Cape Town Ballet and Modern Eisteddfods and Dance Championships. Michele joined Cape Town City Ballet for a year and performed in The Nutcracker Suite and Swan Lake. She then performed in “Show Time”, “Fame the Musical”, followed by “Phantom of the Opera” in S.A. as well as the international tour to the East. Michele returned to join “Chicago the Musical” followed by “Music in You”, “Ladies take a Bow” & “Girls on Film”. She then went onto “Hairspray’ after which she played the role of Donna in “Saturday Night Fever”. Michele also boasts the title of Western Province Stormers Dancer. COURTNEY JONAS Nineteen year old Courtney Jonas recently graduated from the Waterfront Theatre college in Musical Theatre and Dance. Courtney is passionate about performing and has wanted to be a performer since she was 9 years old. Courtney has won many vocal competitions as well as being selected to represent South Africa at the World Championships of Performing Arts in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Courtney was in the Top 14 for the High School Musical Spotlight South Africa and is very excited to be part of such an amazing production like this. Courtney is making her debut professional appearance in High School Musical. TILETTE- LIEBE SCHREUDER BIOGRAPHY Tilette is a qualified Afrikaans teacher at The Grey High School in Port Elizabeth, where she hails from. She is trained in contemporary jazz and tap dance. Tilette has been involved in amateur theatre for the past six years and has performed in musicals such as Grease in which she portrayed Cha-Cha, as Hunyak in Chicago, Lulu in Cabaret and the dance captain of the dance ensemble in Guys and Dolls. Most recently, Tilette was one of the horses in the critically acclaimed Equus which debuted at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in June 2008. High School Musical is Tilette’s first professional show and she regards this as the highlight of her performing career thus far. TRUDY FREDERICKS Trudy matriculated from the National School Of The Arts, with a distinction in dance. She went on to win the prestigious solo performance award and was later awarded awarded a bursary to study at The London Contemporary Dance School, obtaining a 1-year Certificate in Contemporary Dance. Trudy has performed in various shows and companies including, Springs Dance Company (UK), Spirit Of The Dance, Spirit Of Broadway, Janice Honeyman's Cinderella, Goldilocks, Aladdin (Dance Captain), African Footprint and The Lion King (Dance Captain) in South Africa and The International Tour. MANDISA TISO Since playing The Little Mermaid in her home town, Port Elizabeth, Mandisa has been onstage. Countless studio shows and corporates as well as blockbusters, Annie, Grease and Footloose have been stepping stones on her way on the way to this dynamic little lady’s professional debut! She is thrilled to be cast in High School Musical and dedicates her performance to her little boy, Theo. CATHERINE DAYMOND Catherine graduated from the Pretoria Technikon with a diploma in Musical Theatre in 1996. Since then, she’s enjoyed performing in many different productions including La Cage Aux Folles, Oklahoma, Cats, See How They Run, Joseph and his…Coat, Showboat, Hair, Fangs, and various others. She is also a video editor and loves spending time using her Apple Mac. TANDI MEIKLE Tandi Meikle matriculated from the National School of the Arts in 2000 where she specialised in dance. After receiving her National Diploma in Musical Theatre from Tswane University of Technology she started her professional career in the musical review, “Blondes”. She went on to play Meg Giry in Pieter Torien’s Production of “Phantom of the Opera”, and toured with the company to Shanghai. Hazel Feldman’s 2005 production of “Chicago” was next on the cards where she played the role of Hunyak. Her most recent productions include “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”, “Fangs – the Rock Musical”, the New Zealand tour of “We Will Rock You” and the return season of CHICAGO - The Musical. |
